- Our Cardiff Tasting Tour takes us around the city centre calling in to specialist food producers, retailers & Cardiff indoor market. The menu includes a variety of tastings – continental meats, cheeses, cockles, laverbread and Welsh beverages. Along the way we’ll pass beautiful parks, majestic buildings and key landmarks including Cardiff Castle and Principality Stadium ‘the home of Welsh rugby’.
We take bookings up to 17 00 on the Thursday before the tour. We meet inside Cardiff Castle (in the gift shop), Castle Street Cardiff, CF10 3RB at 10 15 am to start the tour at 10 30 am. Present your proof of payment (this can be on your mobile/email print out etc) at the Cardiff Castle reception desk, your Loving Welsh Food Guide will meet you in the Café. The tour lasts for four hours, with quite a bit of walking, so be sure to bring comfortable footwear. We sometimes have a little rain in Wales so an umbrella might be handy
Our tours run on specific dates and have limited capacity so booking well in advance is recommended. Your guide will stay with you throughout the tour. If you have any special dietary requirements, please email us your food needs before the tour.
The Cardiff Food Safari runs every Saturday from 10 30 – 16 00. Cost £67.50 per adult. Private tours can be arranged in French, Italian, Spanish, German as well as in English and Welsh.
Join us on a food safari to explore Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay and enjoy a delicious discovery of Welsh signature & international foods. On the menu – Welsh rarebit, seasonal specials/Cawl, Welsh beers & cider. Our choice of places has a reputation not only for their excellence but also their heritage or interest. We travel from Cardiff city centre to Cardiff Bay by water bus to explore what Cardiff Bay has to offer foodies for dessert.
Cardiff has a thriving food scene – Welsh signature foods, ethnic and continental foods, some locally produced, markets and festivals. We walk around the city centre and Cardiff Bay, passing beautiful parks and key landmarks including Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium ‘the home of Welsh rugby’, & the National Assembly of Wales – Senedd and the Millennium Centre.
On our tour you will learn about different kinds of cuisine from sophisticated dining to traditional pubs and street food. The tour also allows you to get to know Cardiff better. A delicious day out in the garden of Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan sampling Welsh wine, welshcakes, delicious cheeses and much more. Stunning scenery, varied architecture and a few words of Welsh are on the menu as you travel by coach from venue to venue.
We start with a wine tasting at Meadow View Vineyard, a family run vineyard near Cowbridge, in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan. Can Welsh sparkling wine compete with Champagne? We certainly think so.
Next step, a delicious lunch of Cawl and welsh cheeses is served at the stunning Barn Restaurant set on the cliffs of the South wales heritage coast. Warm welshcakes, fresh from the griddle, are served with your coffee.
We end the tour at Hendrewennol Fruit Farm with a guided tour and tastings including biscotti, jams, fruit vinegars and Hendrewennol ice cream.
