We are currently unable to run tours and activities so we’re offering online experiences instead.  Some people have asked me “What exactly is an online food & drink experience?”  I hope that the info below explains why we recommend joining us for an experience, how to book, what to expect, possible issues and the various participating options. I hope to see you soon!  Diolch, thank you. Sian, Founder of Loving Welsh Food

All of our online experiences are hosted via Zoom. Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service where you can meet people online  – by video or audio-only or both. (see below for more info re joining, options, privacy etc)

One great advantage of online experiences is that you can interact during the event.  Watching a cookery programme on TV is great, but if, for example, you’ve  booked the Welsh Food Cook-Along with us you can ask as many questions as you like. If you’ve had problems with a recipe or need more info, you can speak directly to Nerys or myself for advice.

Staying connected is also a big bonus, you can link up with people from all over the world. We’ve had friends book together from different towns and countries so that they get a chance to do something together.

Another great option is that you get to see who else is attending  This is great for us performers as we get to see the audience and our guests tell us that they like to see who else is taking part. Having said that – if you don’t fancy taking part and don’t want to be seen – that’s absolutely fine. Check out the options below re how to participate.

Booking

When you book an online experience with us, we’ll send you a booking confirmation and a zoom link.  The price per booking is per screen not per person. Perfect for families and bubbles.

Food & drink deliveries

When you join us for a tasting experience like our Wine Tasting & Welshcakes, you pre-order your wine (when you buy your ticket, you will see the various wine options) and it will be delivered to your door 2 days before the experience. We are able to deliver throughout the UK. We work with a variety of Welsh producers for the tasting events, and use courier services for deliveries.

Joining

To join the experience, you can use your PC, laptop, tablet, mobile or link your device to your television to see the event on a big screen. On the day, you click on the zoom link to join us and then wait to be admitted.  It takes a few minutes for to be admitted, so don’t panic! We also send you a reminder 24 hours before the event.

 Options

Once you are admitted, you have a few options. The Loving Welsh Food host will go through these options while guests are being admitted.

You are automatically muted when admitted.  We ask you to remain on mute during the presentation.

You can choose to join us via video switching on your camera and microphone – which means that we can see you.  If you would rather not to be seen, you can switch off your camera.

If you would like to chat to the Presenters, the host will ask you to unmute.

Issues

As our events are hosted via Zoom – there are sometimes issues with broadband connections.  This means that the quality of picture and sound can vary.  If you lose the connection during the event, it’s worth waiting a few minutes to see if you are automatically re connected. Otherwise the best option is to leave the meeting – (by clicking on the red LEAVE button) and re join using the same link.
